My name is Tia Maria Torres and I have been in and around the prison system for over 35 years in various capacities. As a 4-time prison wife, I know all too well how difficult navigating the prison system can be. Been there, done that, too many times to count.
But my relationship with prison has also been one as an educator within the prison walls. From conducting my dog training programs with inmates to being the conduit for parolees to come into my employment, prison has been a part of my life for decades.
Then in 2007, the mainstream world decided to accept those who needed a second chance, and I was given the platform to tell the story through my TV show "Pit Bulls & Parolees" Becoming the longest-running show on Animal Planet, cemented my footprint in the prison/inmate world. And here I still stand doing "25 to Wife."

I have been married to four different inmates/convicts/felons. But that's a story for another time. I met them all through various means, and I married them in different scenarios. Whether it was in court after their sentencing for their crime or in prison, I understand the stress and emotion that goes with marrying someone in these precarious situations.
